Personality Traits Nexus Employee's Performance: An Application of Big Five Personality Dimensions Model

Abstract
Performance evaluation is the key area in every era of research and it is influenced through alot of factors well. As far as the performance of employees is concerned, employee's personality is the crucial component for organizations success because it influences theperformance of employees. This paper investigates the impact of personality traits(Neuroticism, Extraversion, Openness, Agreeableness and Conscientiousness) on employeeperformance which is measured through quality work, discipline and attention, cooperationamong colleagues, responsibility for results and initiative. This study collected data throughsemi-structured interview which was transcribed for further analysis. The sample includes 12respondents from the financial and non-financial sector. The respondents were approachedthrough convenient sampling method. QSR Nvivo-10 software was used for data analysis inthis study. The study concludes that the big five personality traits have significant impact onthe performance of the employees whereas Extraversion, Openness, Agreeableness andConscientiousness have positive and significant impact on employee performance.
